Chief Justice inaugurates Distt court complex at Doda | KNO

“Infrastructure development aims to facilitate timely deliverance of justice”

DODA, MARCH 29 (KNO) : Chief Justice (acting) J&K High Court Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar today inaugurated the District Court Complex at Doda. Minister for Law and Justice, Abdul Haq Khan, Administrative Judge District Doda, Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey, and Justice Janak Raj Kotwal were also present on the occasion.

Chief Justice also laid foundation stone of Lawyers Chambers in the newly constructed Court Complex. The court complex having 5 courts has been constructed at a cost of Rs 17.78 crore and has been equipped with latest facilities including judicial service center, conference hall, library, malkhana, storage and lock up etc. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Justice said that the aim to build the infrastructure in courts is to facilitate the atmosphere where justice is delivered properly.

He said advocates have an important role to play in the justice delivery system and the ultimate goal must be to make justice available to the common people and help judicial system to deliver it at the door steps of people. He appealed young bar members to lead best evidence in claim cases so that aggrieved people are not deprived of their legal claim. Chief Justice said that in past few months, the high court disposed off all the pending claim cases (MACT cases) which were pending from past many years. He also stressed on the lawyers to participate in the Lok Adalats so that justice is delivered to the people at earliest.

He praised the Law Minister in showing keen interest in developing the infrastructure in the courts of states besides providing adequate facilities to the lawyers. Law Minister, Abdul Haq Khan while speaking on the said the State Government is not leaving any stone unturned in strengthening the infrastructure of Courts across the state besides fine tuning the justice system. He said in this regard more courts have been established and steps are being taken to increase the posts of judges to reduce the pendency of cases.

Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey said if we consider the courts like temples of justice and render quality and speedy legal services to the litigants, more and more aggrieved people would come to the courts for legal remedy. He further said that it is unfair to allow the grandson to reap the benefits of the case filed by his grandfather. Justice Janak Raj Kotwal while addressing the gathering made a fervent appeal to the advocates to become messengers of justice and provide best legal assistance to the poor and needy.

The inaugural function was attended by Sanjay Dhar, Registrar General, High Court of J&K, Jawed Ahmed, Pr. Secretary to Chief Justice, R.N Watel, Member Secretary, J&K SLSA, M.K Sharma, Pr. District & Session Judge Bhaderwah, Abdul Majid, Law Secretary, Bhawani Rakwal DDC Doda, Madan Lal, Addl. District & Sessions Judge Doda, Khem Raj Sub Judge/CJM Doda, Sandeep Sen District Mobile Magistrate Doda, B S Salathia, President Bar Association Jammu, Ghulam Hassan Pateguru, President Bar Association Doda and members of the bar and other prominent persons .

The Chief Justice also inaugurated the front office cum legal aid clinic in the new court complex and distributed pension orders and prosthetic aid to beneficiaries (widows, old age persons and physically disabled persons) under National Social Assistance Programme at Doda and at Legal Aid Clinic, Drudhoo Bhaderwah.(KNO)
